THE PHILOSOPHY
Strategic Human Resilience
Slow down to speed up.
Human resilience is not simply the ability to endure more. It is the capacity to understand what is happening within us, respond with intention, adapt to changing circumstances, and move forward without losing our connection to who we are.
My understanding of resilience has been shaped by a lifetime of working in environments where composure, adaptability, and sound decision-making matter. I began as a Combat Medic in the Canadian Armed Forces, serving on deployments to Bosnia and Afghanistan. I later became a Physician Assistant, working in the Arctic and contributing to training and development. My career continued through senior advisory positions within the military, where I deepened my appreciation for the human dimensions of leadership, organizational effectiveness, and the responsibility of guiding others.
These experiences taught me what people can do under extraordinary circumstances. They also helped me recognize that functioning under pressure is not the same as finding balance within it.
Yoga entered my life as a way to create that balance. After retiring from the military, I carried my experience into the corporate world as a Director of Learning and Development before establishing my consulting company. My work increasingly focused on helping people and organizations rethink leadership, learning, performance, and change.
My journey eventually took me to India to study yoga and explore the philosophical traditions that underpin the practice. I began connecting practical knowledge of Western health and human performance, military discipline, leadership development, and contemplative wisdom.

“The path to resilience is not always about becoming stronger, pushing harder, or learning to carry more. Sometimes, it begins with learning to slow down.”
Strategic Human Resilience is an intentional approach to developing the awareness, steadiness, and adaptability needed to navigate complexity without being entirely governed by it.
Through movement, we create space for the body to release tension and move more freely. Through breath awareness and meditation, we learn to settle the mind, recognize our patterns, and create space between what happens and how we respond. Through reflection and a deeper connection to our values, we cultivate inner steadiness and become more fully present.
By integrating practical health knowledge, leadership development, reflective coaching, yoga, breathwork, and meditation, I create structured opportunities for people to reconnect with themselves, develop clarity, and make more deliberate choices about how they live, lead, and respond to change.
SLOW DOWN TO SPEED UP
Slow down to reconnect. Slow down to see clearly.
Meaningful progress does not always come from moving faster. Sometimes it comes from pausing long enough to see clearly, reconnect with purpose, and choose the next step with intention.
